Moving IBM Db2 on Cloud instances to MZRs
Moving forward, all IBM DB2 on Cloud instances in Toronto and Sao Paulo must be moved to the multi-zone regions (MZRs). Multi-zone regions are a modernized approach to resource deployment that provide better resiliency, availability and consistent cloud services across different zones. They also provide higher interconnect speed between data centers for your resources. Future service tool releases by IBM will only be available in multi-zone regions, as well. Please note that your MZR will be in the same city as the SZR you are using today.
How to move your instance to an MZR
To move your instance to an MZR, you will need to clone your database and then update the hostname and port used in your applications. Please be sure to move your instance to the new MZR by August 25, 2023, and feel free to create a help ticket if you have any questions.
